BANGALORE, INDIA: Fraudulent e-mails take different look and feel as time passes by, in an attempt to appear as genuine as possible. Despite many warnings and reports about such mails, which often comes with a request for help to move a huge amount of money from a particular bank account to your account, the unsatisfiable greed has caused many to lose thousands.

One of the latest such e-mails, which had been doing rounds for a few weeks, is customized in the name of Radha Ramalinga, who introduce herself as wife of B. Suryanarayana Raju Ramalinga, the younger brother of Byrraju Ramalinga Raju, the former chairman and founder of Satyam Computers.

“I do have a proposal for you, which would be of immense financial benefits to you and me,” says the fraud e-mail, which has nothing to do with Satyam or Raju's family.

“My husband and his brother are currently in big trouble in India. I need your assistance to help me move some funds from Holland to India or anywhere where it would at least be of some help to our family,” it adds, apparently attempting to create a situation which most Indians can now relate to as they had been witness to Ramalinga Raju's admission of fraud in January last year and the followed events that eventually landed him in jail.

On January 7, 2009 Raju resigned from the Satyam board after confessing to corporate fraud and cheating six million shareholders, some of whom have lost their entire life savings. Though he admitted to overstating the company's cash reserves by $ 1.5 billion, later, it was revealed that the company's assets were not inflated, but instead siphoned off by Raju.

“I would give you more details of this proposal if you show yourself willing to take on it, I assure you that you would most certainly be compensated but please I would kindly request you to keep this matter confidential,” the e-mail goes on.

She says she is currently in the UK where it is 'a bit safe for her and her kids'.

But the e-mail address given to reach her back looks totally impersonal as it has no characteristic that can be linked to the letters in her name. The e-mail ID is apdream1@gmail.com.

Beware! Someone is dreaming to make millions in the name of Satyam!
