Novell upgrades Identity Manager 4 solution

Novell IncBANGALORE, INDIA: Novell Inc., a provider of intelligent workload management solution, on Thursday announced the launch of Novell Identity Manager 4 Standard Edition to help customers secure the enterprise while controlling costs and meeting regulatory demands.

Part of Novell's WorkloadIQTM portfolio, Novell Identity Manager 4 delivers a consistent, cloud-ready framework for managing identities across physical, virtual and cloud environments, said a press release.

Novell Identity Manager 4 also combines automated, rule-based user provisioning with current-state reporting, enhanced scalability and tight integration with Microsoft SharePoint and SAP ERP systems, , claimed the company.

This integration also helps to secure the cloud by connecting to services such as Salesforce.com and GoogleApps. It enables organizations to be open and agile across physical, virtual and cloud environments.

The company said that the product helps customers reduce costs with seamless enterprise-wide user provisioning and enhances security and compliance with real-time user activity monitoring.

“Enterprises need the confidence that their business is secure and that they can meet the increasingly complex regulatory landscape without sacrificing business agility or incurring overwhelming cost,” said Jim Ebzery, senior vice president and general manager, Security, Management and Operating Platforms, Novell.
