Novell to invest $100 million in Whittman-Hart

BANGALORE: Novell Inc. has announced that it would invest $100 million in

Whittman-Hart Inc. to accelerate the deployment of Novell Directory Services in

enterprise and e-business solutions.

Whittman-Hart is a provider of integrated business and technology solutions

for middle-market companies. According to a release, the investment would help

meet the needs of customers in mid-sized businesses for secure, manageable

e-business solutions that span the enterprise and the Internet.

Under the agreement, Novell would buy Whittman-Hart strocks worth $100

million, representing six per cent of latter's outstanding capital.

The two companies have formed an alliance to jointly develop customised NDS

solutions for mid-sized companies. Whittman-Hart will also establish a Solutions

Development Centre to train employees on these solutions and demonstrate them to

customers, the release said.
