BANGALORE, September 4: Onward Novell Software (I) Ltd. has set up the
Novell Institute for Networking Technologies (NINT) — Centre for
Networking Excellence in Pune. The centre was inaugurated by Maharashtra
government chief secretary Arun Bongirwar.
"Government of Maharashtra is taking strong initiatives for
promoting IT and other knowledge based industries in the state of
Maharashtra which will play a lead role in transforming India from
developing to developed nation", commented Mr Bongirwar.
Novell had signed Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of
Maharashtra to set up the Institute, last year in the presence of Novell
Inc. USA Chairman and CEO Dr Eric Schmidt. NINT will be a part of the
Indian Institute of Software Engineering which is being set up by
Government of Maharashtra in affiliation with the Computer Science School
of Carnegie Mellon University USA. Novell aims to make NINT India’s
leading competency centre for System and Networking Engineering skills.
