New Novell Vibe integrations bring team productivity, document and content management, and business process automation into the familiar Novell GroupWise interface millions of users rely on for daily productivity, the release added.

“The quality of Novell GroupWise 2012 reaffirms our commitment to Novell technologies. In fact, we've been running the product in production -- with very good results -- for most of its beta cycle," said Edmund Weber, technical specialist at the University of Regensburg, Germany.

According to the release, Novell has devoted significant engineering time to enhance collaborative capabilities, delivering an environment that combines the ubiquity and reliability of email with the latest team collaboration tools to maximize information sharing and idea exchange.

“Novell GroupWise 2012 is an important part of our go-forward market strategy,” said Bob Flynn, president and general manager, Novell.

“GroupWise 2012 demonstrates our commitment to invest in engineering excellence and customer focus by making it easier for organizations to offer social collaboration tools as part of their existing, tried-and-true GroupWise email platform,” added Flynn.

According to a recent Market Trends report from Gartner, “During the past 15 years, most organizations have depended on email as one of their de facto forms of electronic business communications. However, other forms of communications - such as IM, text messages, wikis, blogs, collaboration tools and social networking - are growing in prevalence and should become part of an organization's overall electronic communications strategy.”

Enhanced mobility features include a new, streamlined Web access interface that allows users to be more productive on the go while also reducing the client administration burden for IT.
