Nortel appoints new Enterprise Leader for Asia

BANGALORE, INDIA: Nortel has appointed Francois Lancon as vice president, Enterprise Networks, Asia, effective immediately. As a telecom and IT industry veteran, Lancon has international experience and a proven track record in delivering business results and building strong teams. In his new role at Nortel, Lancon will be responsible for accelerating momentum and driving market leadership for the company’s Enterprise business in Asia.

“Francois Lancon is a recognized leader in the industry and with his extensive experience, I have no doubt he will play a key role in driving our Enterprise business to the next level,” said Mike Pangia, president of Nortel Asia.

Lancon started his career with IBM in France. He later joined Bay Networks where he held management positions in the marketing and data system engineering teams. After Nortel acquired Bay in 1998, he assumed executive roles in Nortel with responsibility for Japan Enterprise, Asia Pacific data networks and Asean businesses. Most recently he was the senior vice president of Operations and Strategy for Convergys based in Orlando. Prior to this position he was president of Convergys Asia Pacific. Lancon will be based at Nortel’s offices in Singapore.
