BANGALORE, INDIA: Handset major Nokia, which is struggling hard to win back the high-end smartphone sector, has just announced the launch of its new 'Touch and Type' handset, Nokia C3, in a surprise announcement at the Nokia World conference at London today.

With a touchscreen display and a regular hardware keypad below, the Nokia C3 Touch and Type shares the same form factor as the Nokia X3 Touch and Type, according to a report. With the latter being well received, it looks like Nokia is launching an all-out assault on the entry-level of the smartphone range, and this is excellent news for those looking for a budget handset.

The C3 Touch and Type is expected to cost around Rs. 8,700 and the company is expected to start shipping in the fourth quarter of this year.
