Nokia Siemens to acquire Apertio

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Nokia Siemens Networks today announced that it would acquire Apertio Ltd for €140 million.

On completion of the deal, Apertio would become a business line within Nokia Siemens Networks’ Converged Core business unit.

Current Apertio CEO Paul Magelli would head the unit. The acquisition is expected to close in the first quarter of 2008. Apertio provides open real-time subscriber data platforms and applications.

“With one open real-time subscriber data platform we have the solution to this problem and as part of Nokia Siemens Networks we will have the geographic reach, comprehensive application portfolio and ecosystem to extend our leadership,” Magelli said. Apertio’s customers include fastest growing communications service providers, including Orange, T-Mobile, Vodafone and O2.
