Nokia offers CDMA phone at less than Rs 2000

MUMBAI: Nokia and Reliance Communications Ltd have joined hands to market the Nokia 1255 mobile handset for a market price of Rs 1,999. This is Nokia’s maiden offer of a CDMA handset in the sub-Rs 2000 range.

According to a Nokia statement, the objective of this initiative is to provide impetus to the Indian telecom market by providing consumers a high quality mobile experience at an affordable price level. Nokia 1255 is an entry level black and white handset targeted at first time mobile phone users.

In recognition of the need to stay in touch while minimizing downtime, the Nokia 1225 phone delivers up to four hours of talk time and up to 10 days of standby time.
