What interests you in the current technology basket from a point of view of serious investments?

We are exploring cloud computing and virtualization for new areas. We are also looking at some latest trends in security as that is a significant area too.

Anything that you can call a game-changer for the new future?

I guess Cloud Computing is going to change the entire way of IT to a great extent. The Pay-Per-Use model and revenue orientation would definitely impact the industry as we go forward.

How do you steer your IT strategy at IRCTC? What are your gearbox’s core elements?

We have to maintain 24/7 availability. Lot of data, specially financial one is part of the pie. Online tickets, and other data are integral to our systems. We have to ensure everything runs smoothly.
