Nipuna likely to set up center in Mumbai

HYDERABAD: Nipuna Services Ltd, a BPO services provider, is looking to set up centers outside Hyderabad. The company has 1,600 associates working from two centers each in Hyderabad and Bangalore.

Venkatesh Roddam, chief executive officer, Nipuna said, “We are exploring the possibilities to set up centers outside Hyderabad.

Probably, it could be Mumbai, and though it might turn out to be expensive because of client and industry specific needs, we may look at this option.”

However, Roddam didn't specify the timeframe and the size of the proposed center. Nipuna is also considering locations other than Mumbai.

Earlier, he informed that the company has an associate base of 1,600, which would further be increased to 2,500 by the end of the current financial year.

Nipuna that started operations in June 2002 focuses on key verticals including BFSI, telecom, media and entertainment, etc. The company is also foreseeing tremendous potential in horizontals like KPO.

Having more than 20 clients, of which most of them are actual customers of Satyam Computer Services, Roddam said that Nipuna will emerge as an independent solutions provider and not just acting as an extension to Satyam.

“Though bulk of our current customer base constitutes Satyam's clients, it will continue to be an independent unit and conventionally speaking servicing to Satyam's customer base is only natural,” Roddam said.
