SINGAPORE: Gaming major Nintendo has decided to look beyond console game business and enter the mobile game market.
Nintendo and mobile game firm DeNA announced in Tokyo Tuesday that they had agreed to launch a mobile game business.
"Nintendo and DeNA have discussed how to create new business opportunities in the global market by tapping into our respective strengths," the two companies said.
While the mobile sector has gained more gravity in the global game market, the Japanese video game company has stuck with its console game devices such as the "Nintendo DS" series and "Wii." In January 2014, the company revealed its opposition to developing smartphone games.
