NIIT wins Rs 1.55-billion order from AP

NEW DELHI: NIIT Ltd, India’s largest computer software trainer, reported that it had won a 1.55 billion order from the southern state of Andhra Pradesh.

“The order will cover 663 government schools in Andhra Pradesh and train over 300,000 students,” P. Rajendran, NIIT’s chief operating officer, told in a news gathering.

NIIT is Asia’s largest computer skills training firm. NIIT shares were trading down 5.70 rupees at 223.70 rupees at 12:29 p.m. (0659 GMT) while the overall market was broadly flat.
