NEW DELHI: After the recent spin off from the NIIT, the software arm of the company, NIIT Technologies has opened a new software development center in Delhi. It plans to open similar facilities in Bangalore and Kolkata in few months to come.

The new 300-seater facility will not cater to any specific project, but work for all projects in its kitty. NIIT president Arvind Thakur reiterated the commitment of the company in three specific verticals (Insurance, Airlines and Retail) and informed that the company has plans to tap the domestic market.

"It is a conscious decision from our part to play in segments which are not over crowded and we can create a place for ourselves. Indian market is also accelerating, especially the solutions segment, which we have been eyeing lately," he elaborated.

NIIT CEO Vijay K Thadani said, "We have been able to grow at a consistent path and plans to sustain at an accelerated pace to outgrow the regular IT growth rate."

Commenting on the future path, Thakur said that the company might look at few more verticals that can contribute a higher rate of operating margins.
