NEW DELHI: NIIT Technologies Ltd has reported a 6 percent growth in net
profit to Rs 14 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, compared to that
of the corresponding quarter the previous year.
The company said in a press release that its consolidated revenues recorded
a growth of seven percent to Rs 136.5 crore, compared to the year-ago
period.
While the company's IT solutions business contributed Rs 127.2 crore, its
BPO business, which showed a 29 percent growth contributed the rest.
Revenue from the focused verticals - financial services, transport and
retail - improved to 68 percent of the total revenues in the quarter.
NIIT added 242 employees in the first quarter to increase the headcount to
3,244 professionals and expects to increase this number by seven - eight
percent in the next quarter. The company also added six new international
customers during the quarter.
