NIIT among top service providers

NEW DELHI: NIIT Technologies Ltd, a provider in IT solutions headquartered in New Delhi, was ranked third among global outsourcers by the Black Book of Outsourcing Insurance Industry user survey 2008.

The survey covers over 700 contracts held by 2885 of the top spending global insurance corporations and organisations. It was conducted by evaluating outsourcing vendors across 18 key performance indicators of operational excellence.

According to the survey, it also bagged the seventh position in the BPO Vendors space in the insurance industry.

“Being ranked among the top providers globally in the Black Book Insurance Survey reinforces NIIT Technologies’ ability to deliver business value, through sharp focus in select industry segments,” said Arvind Thakur, chief executive officer, NIIT Technologies, at a press conference here on Tuesday.

According to the company statement, the insurance practice was considered a key focus of the company that contributed 28 per cent to the consolidated revenues of the organisation.

The annual study, conducted by the outsourcing management-consulting firm Brown-Wilson Group, recognises excellence among global service providers that demonstrate superior management practices, leadership and outstanding performance.

Recently, in a survey released for the travel industry, NIIT had received top honours by being ranked in the no 1 position in 2008 Black Book.

The Black Book aids decision-making by supplying valid and premium knowledge about the complex and dynamic outsourcing marketplace. It is one of the world’s best selling business books on the subject.
