MUMBAI: NIIT Technologies has extended the range of its service offerings by
launching its managed services business to address the remote infrastructure management
opportunity.
Speaking to media at NASSCOM 2006 here, Arvind Thakur, CEO, NIIT, said that the total addressable market for IT infrastructure offshoring inclusive of support, network administration and help desk is estimated to be $70-85 billion, according to a NASSCOM-McKinsey report.
"It is estimated that less than five percent of the addressable managed services market has been addressed till date, indicating significant headroom for growth," said Thakur.
"With the launch of managed services, our attempt is to ride the crest of the third wave around remote infrastructure and application management," he added.
The new solutions from NIIT include operations and management of application and essential infrastructure services for global clients.
The company has 100 people working in this division and expects to achieve $10 million
revenues in two years. The company has appointed Satish Sayal, to head the managed services business.
