The 40,000 sq ft center, which is in addition to Nihilent’s earlier facilities in Mumbai and Pune, has a capacity of 700 seats and would help the company realize its targeted headcount of 1000 people by mid 2007.

The company also wishes to get listed by 2009 and has initiated work on the same. Also among the wish list is an ambition to make it to the top 20 club in terms of profitability ratio.

“We have doubled our staff strength from 300 last year and will have 800 software developers by this year’s end. We clocked a 50 per cent YOY growth in 2006-07 and touched the Rs70 crore mark. We will continue our growth momentum,” said L C singh, president and CEO, Nihilent.

South Africa constitutes 80 per cent of its business presence and has clients like Barclays, MTN, Mutichoice and South African Airways. But Singh said that gradual traction is being made in markets like UK and US with a specific country strategy. Nihilent also has SEI CMM certification as a part of its business practice and has assessed over 20 companies in India, Egypt, Iran and South Africa so far. Besides IT and Quality assessment, Consulting is also a key part of its offerings and forms 20 per cent of its revenue pie.

Two years back, the company turned around after a not-so-good business phase and financial squeeze that spurred it to look inward and change its strategic focus. Singh added that Nihilent is today a debt-free company and has taken strategic execution as its business focal point that includes areas like performance management, change management and capability management.

Talking to CyberMedia News, Singh expressed that there’s enormous potential lying untapped in the domestic market.

“Almost every conventional public enterprise, be it banks or hospitals as well as badly run private concerns are candidates for the change management business. The entire cycle, that spans from strategy to process framework, change management, knowledge management to execution, innovation and experimentation, is a business pie.” The company has released ‘Lamat’, a performance management tool. Next from Nihilent’s kitty are modules on content management and capability management.
