BANGALORE: The Board of Directors of Aztec Software & Technology Services Limited in its meeting held on January 18, 2004, approved the appointment of Mr. V Chandrasekaran as its Chief Executive Officer based in Bangalore. V Chandrasekaran will head all of Aztec's global operations, reporting to the Board. He takes over from the company's Founder & CEO, S. Parthasarathy. Partha will continue on the Board and provide strategic guidance to the company going forward.
V Chandrasekaran is a doyen of the Indian software industry. As President of Wipro's Enterprise Software Division from 1992 to 1999, he was instrumental in growing Wipro's software services business from $3 million to over $150 million in revenue, and establishing Wipro's leadership in the industry. He was subsequently the CEO of Mascot Systems (now iGate Global Solutions), and led the company through its highly successful IPO.
S Parthasarathy, who founded the company 8 years ago, had stepped in as CEO last year. During this time, the company added 15 new customers, doubled the number of employees to more than 400 and returned to growth and profitability. V Chandrasekaran's appointment is another major step in building the company's operations.
