ideaForge Bags ₹137 Cr Order from Army for Hybrid Mini UAVs

ideaForge Technology, a leading player in India’s unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) industry, has secured a ₹137 crore order from the Indian Army through the Emergency Procurement route. This order is for high-performance hybrid Mini UAV systems already in service for ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) missions.

Strategic Move in Defence Modernisation

The hybrid Mini UAV, a fixed-wing VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) platform, was chosen following an extensive evaluation that prioritised operational performance, national security, and supply chain integrity. A strict condition in the assessment mandated sourcing all critical sub-components from non-border-sharing nations, with a focus on indigenous design.

Security Scrutiny and Indigenous Advantage

Two independent high-level technical committees were deployed post-trials to ensure compliance. These teams carried out detailed audits at multiple factory sites, stripping down units physically and digitally to verify component origin and embedded security.

ideaForge’s UAV passed with full marks. Not only did it meet the no-border-country clause, but it also showcased complete indigenous capability, making it a trusted and strategic solution for the Army’s CI/CT (Counter-Insurgency/Counter-Terrorism) operations.

Proven on the Battlefield

The UAV has previously earned the “Fit for Indian Military Use” certification from the Directorate General of Quality Assurance (DGQA)—a benchmark of resilience and operational readiness. Its success during Operation Sindoor added real-world validation to its technological and strategic value.
