LexSite partners with ICIC for payments
BANGALORE: LexSite.com, website on Law and Taxation, has announced its
alliance with ICICI for payment gateways and lookforgreen, prepaid cash cards
for the Internet respectively. With the help of these strategic alliances,

per the agreement, ICICI will develop customized financial software for LexSite
to ensure smooth financial transactions through ICICI's payment gateway.

Cisco runs Asia manufacturing from S'pore
SINGAPORE: Cisco Systems Inc, the world's largest maker of Internet
networking gear, said on Thursday it has made Singapore home to its Asian
manufacturing centre to coordinate with suppliers in the region. "Singapore
is one of our critical bases of operation in the Asia-Pacific region,"
Asia-Pacific president Gordon Astles said in a statement as Cisco also
inaugurated its new regional office in the City-State. "The country plays a
crucial role in our ability to provide leading Internet technologies and
customer service and support." The manufacturing centre will not make
anything itself but will work with regional partners such as Venture
Manufacturing, Inventec Corp and the Thai operations of Canada's Celestica, a
spokesman told Reuters. "Asia is expected to play an increased role in the
company's global manufacturing system in order to lower costs and shorten
customer lead times," the Cisco statement said. - Reuters.
EMC increases market share in storage systems
NEW DELHI: According to a report from Gartner Dataquest, an independent
research and advisory firm, EMC increased its share in the information storage
systems market to 34.6 per cent, gaining nearly three times more market share
than any other supplier. The industry's first independent market share research
revealed that EMC's revenue share of the external RAID storage market exceeded
the combined shares of Compaq, IBM, Hewlett-Packard and Sun Microsystems which
are the its rivals in the market. EMC also extended its top market share lead in
storage management software in 2000, according to an April report from Gartner
Dataquest, growing nearly six points to a 25.5% share last year. EMC outpaced
the next closest software competitor by more than nine percentage points in the
rapidly growing worldwide storage management software market. - CNS
