JP Systems Inc. receives $7m. funding



BANGALORE: JP Systems (India) Ltd., a Hyderabad-based subsidiary of JP Systems Inc., has firmly established in the Internet market, with its parent company receiving funding to the tune of $7 million from Bantry Bay and GS Ventures, combined.



According to a press release issued by the company, this funding would benefit JP Systems as this would create increased employment opportunity and a challenging work environment coupled with improved sales and marketing efforts. A portion of the funds received by JP Systems Inc. would be used by the company to enter the European and Asian markets.



"The investment will propel us to achieve an early success in the growing area of web to wireless technology. We share a common vision and goal with our investors, that will create historic landmarks in the wireless Internet industry," said JP Systems Inc. chief executive officer Dayakar Puskoor.



 



Infosys adopts Rational tools



BANGALORE: Rational Software Corporation India Pvt. Ltd., has announced that Infosys Technologies Ltd. has adopted Rational's solution, a combination of the Rational Unified Process and Rational Tools for their software development. Infosys has started to use most of Rational Solutions ranging from Requisite Pro for Requirements management, Rose for Visual Modeling, Rational Teamtest, Purify and Quantity for Testing. This year has seen a shift in the market with more Indian software development companies using tools in their software development.



Speaking on how Rational's solution has helped, Infosys deputy managing director and head of customer service and technology S. Gopalakrishnan said, "We have identified Rational Suite as an integrated tool set for Software development. With the increasing adoption of Object and Internet Technologies for software development and deployment, an integrated suite that supports both is required. We deploy this in client engagements as well as in our training programs." Speaking at a press conference held here, Rational Software Corporation country manager M.K. Bharatee said, "Globally only 26 per cent of software development is successful and to help increase the success rate, tools are required and that is where we come into the picture."
