Zenith notebook gets Microsoft certification
MUMBAI: Zenith's notebook - the 21 A notebook computer of the series -
is the first Indian notebook to have received the PC 99 Certification from
Microsoft. The Microsoft PC 99 Certification logo identifies hardware and
software products that have been designed and tested to meet Microsoft standards
for compatibility with Windows 98 and Windows 2000. The products displaying this
logo have passed rigorous testing for eight days followed by an assessment for
21 consecutive days, which assures that they are easy to use, stable and take
advantage of the new features of Windows 98 and Windows 2000. The software was
tested by Veritest, an independent testing lab based in Singapore while the
hardware, both PCs and peripheral devices are tested by Windows Hardware Quality

Red Hat, IBM tie-up for Linux servers
MUMBAI: Red Hat India has joined hands with IBM on a strategic
alliance to promote Linux-based servers targeted at enterprises in India. The
alliance will entail IBM India offering Red Hat Linux bundled with xSeries range
of servers. In addition, Red Hat will also promote the xSeries range of servers
as standard entry level servers for their Linux offerings. Red Hat also plans to
launch a series of road shows across the country to make corporates familiar
with Red Hat. Red Hat India’s director Javed Tapia, said, "Linux is
rapidly becoming the platform of choice for enterprises in India because of its
open source nature and its ability to create successful e-business
infrastructure. Our tie-up with IBM, which is the leader in enterprise servers
