neoIT licenses technology to three portals



BANGALORE: neoIT has licensed its MarketMaker technology to three portals

and a premier technology association. CyberIndia Online Limited (CIOL),

GlobalOutsourcing.org, HITDecisions.com, and the Software & Information

Industry Association (SIIA) will use the technology to power their services

marketplaces. The MarketMaker will enable users to automate the outsourcing of

technology, business and consulting services. With a suite of web-native

sourcing, procurement and project collaboration modules, the users can

streamline the services value chain and minimize the cost and risk associated

IBM launches server to beat Dell



NEW YORK: International Business Machines on Thursday launched a $699
computer server based on an Intel Corp. microchip, bringing its lowest price

down to near the same level as Dell Computer Corp. The IBM server, called the

eServer x200VL, is based on Intel's Celeron microprocessor that runs at 850

megahertz, or 850 million cycles per second. The unit also has 20 gigabytes of

disk-drive storage, about the same amount found in an average PC sold today.

Previously, the lowest price point for an entry-level server from IBM was $759.

This was in reply to Dell’s recent launched of its PowerEdge 500SC at $699,

its then lowest price point. - Reuters

HCL launches BeanStalk PCs



NEW DELHI: HCL Infosystems Ltd (HCL Insys), an Indian information enabling
company, has announced the launch of the HCL BeanStalk personal computers (PCs)

powered by Intel Pentium IV 2-GHz processor for the home segment. This new

Internet-ready, ergonomically designed series of HCL BeanStalk PC’s is called

Beanstalk OMEGA. This PC coincides with the global launch of Intel’s Pentium

IV 2 GHz processor. The price range of BeanStalk PC series begins from Rs 52,000

onwards. The machine has Intel’s 850 chipset, with a 40 GB ATA 100 hard disk.

It has a 52x CDROM drive, with an option of DVD, a 17" digital colour

monitor, and a Dolby surround sound system. HCL is also offering optional gaming

devices like joystick, gamepads etc. The optical mouse, 256 MB RDRAM makes work

Enterasys launches SOHO VPN gateway



NEW DELHI: Enterasys Networks Inc., an enterprise network solutions firm has
announced the immediate availability of the Aurorean ANG-1100 series of VPN

(virtual private network) gateways. The ANG-1100 series is targeted at small

office VPN applications that use broadband Internet services such as DSL and

cable and that have no on-site IT personnel. Enterasys’ next-generation SOHO

VPN gateway, the ANG-1100, is available in two plug-and-play models. The

ANG-1102 offers two 10BaseT Ethernet ports for easy connectivity to any Internet

access device. Also available is the ANG-1105, which includes a 4-port

10BaseT/100BaseTX Ethernet hub and embedded hardware acceleration for more than

3 Mbps 3DES performance. Both models feature Aurorean’s EZ-IPsecÔ
