New tablet PC from Sahara Computers

NEW DELHI: Sahara Computers and Electronics Ltd (SCEL), the South Africa-based technology giant in the information technology hardware space today introduced the Windows XP Tablet PC (NB7630-N7) priced at Rs 66,999.

Powered by Intel Pentium M Dothan 1.7GHz processor, the Tablet PC sports 512 MB DDR RAM, which can be further augmented to 2GB RAM for multiple application launch.

The Tablet PC NB 7630-N7 comes with an 80 GB Ultra ATA 4200 HDD and a DVD R/RW capable of writing at 8/4/8X speed.

Commenting on the new introduction, George Van Der Merwe, chief operating officer, SCEL said, “With current trends of rapidly evolving technology and open access to information on new tools to improve productivity and efficiency, it has become imperative that we pre-empt the customer's technology needs of tomorrow, Today!”

The Wi-Fi Tablet PC offers portability and comes with 12.1 inch TFT display that offers 180 degree rotation and is ideal for presentation purposes. Besides the affordable price that punches a hole in the competition offering, the SCEL Tablet PC sports high battery life of 3.5-4 hours and weighs just about 2.5 Kg.

Besides Synaptics touchpad (that acts as a mouse pointer), the Tablet PC also comes with a Pen Digitiser for applications launch and digital inking. The pen digitiser when combined with the all-powerful features of the sensitive touch screen technology of the Tablet PC gives the user the convenience of taking notes just as he would on a conventional medium of 'paper pad'.

The Tablet PC comes preloaded with Windows XP operating system is a fully functional laptop. The user has the option of selecting any range of processor depending on his needs. A complete mobile computing solution with large amount of memory (both RAM and HDD) makes SCEL Tablet PC the perfect accessory and tool of productivity for the people on move.

The Tablet PC also supports 4 USB 2.0 ports and one port each for sound/volume control, D-Sub VGA Port, S-Video TV Out port, DC in Jack, Headphone Out Jack, Microphone Jack, compatible RJs for phone and LAN and a Kensington Lock Hole.
