New Samsung Galaxy, Galaxy Note: Storage, RAM specs

BANGALORE, INDIA: With all the reports about the next generation versions of Samsung Galaxy, and Samsung Galaxy Note doing rounds, we bring you the specs in terms of memory, processor, connectivity and RAM of these devices, in comparison with their predecessors and each other.

Samsung Galaxy S2 and S3



While Samsung Galaxy S2 sports an internal memory of 32GB and also has a Micro SD slot that can take up the memory by up to 32GB more, its high-end version Galaxy S3 will come in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB versions, along with a 63GB capacity micro SD card option, thus giving a potential 128 GB of storage space.

S3 will also have an additional 50 GB space on Dropbox, free for two years. The device, 'designed for humans, inspired by nature', sports dual and quad core application processors with 1.4GHz CPU speed.

The Android Gingerbread S2 features Kies 2.0, an upgrade of Kies 1.5, that allows device to sync with a computer using a Wi-Fi network for PIM back-up, subscribing to contents, and multimedia contents sharing. It also features Cisco WebEx and VPN (Virtual Private Network) with Cisco’s AnyConnect.

S2 has a dual core application processor and is compatible with HSPA+ at 21Mbps and also features WiFi Direct and NFC.

In terms of wireless connectivity, S3 will support 2G (EDGE/GPRS (850/900/1800/1900 MHz), 3G (HSPA+), HSDPA, 21 Mbps; HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps, Bluetooth (4.0 LE) and NFC.

Samsung Galaxy S3 will also sport a 1GB RAM just like its predecessor S2.

Samsung Galaxy Note and Note 2



Samsung Galaxy Note has 16GB internal memory and microSD support for up to 32GB.

It carries a 1.4GHz dual core processor and HSPA+ internet speeds of up to 21Mbps (850/900/1900/2100). The device is compatible with 4G LTE, and EDGE/GPRS (850/900/1800/1900).

The Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) device also supports Bluetooth technology v 3.0 + HS, USB 2.0 HOST, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, and Wi-Fi Direct. Galaxy Note has about 1024 MB of RAM space.

Though not much is known about the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, as per various reports it will carry a Exynos 5240 dual core chip, clocked at 1.7GHz, will have 4G LTE connectivity and 1.5GB of RAM.
