The new-look CIOL is a result of our efforts to make the site more news-oriented and provide you with a richer ‘IT information’ feel.

Our designers chose the new form with utmost care enabling quick-click access to content with easy navigability. We have been working for some time now to bring you all the content smartly packaged so you could devote quality time reading and interacting.

Apart from being the primary source of news for the IT industry, the new design ensures that two significant communities, the enterprise and the develop, are given special attention. The Enterprise Channel will feature exclusive content in four streams namely, Infrastructure, Enterprise Processes, B2B and Outsourcing.

The Enterprise Connect channel, is a special program for top CIOs in the country that will sport new content under advisories, casebooks and relevant case studies. The channel would showcase some exclusive comments by prominent CEOs and CIOs of large Indian enterprises.

Similarly, the Developer Channel has been greatly enhanced to carry focused content for hard core techies in eight technology domains. Other content in this channel includes tutorials, jobs, training and development and book and web links. Developer channel will be driven entirely by the developer community with technology evangelists taking the lead.

"The new design comes with a fresh look and with revitalized treatment to the reports. It brings in easy navigation and quicker links to our huge content repository," commented E. Abraham Mathew, President, Cyber India Online Limited.

Following the successful launch of the CIOL Enterprise Connect Program in July 2002, a similar program for the Developer segment is in the pipeline. The CIOL Enterprise Connect Program was rolled out in an effort to bring together the Top 1,000 CIOs in the country and address their concerns. IBM is the partner-company for the program.

In an effort to address information needs in emerging technology areas, we have identified four resource centers - Storage, Wireless, Gadgets and Bioinformatics. Each of these would serve as one-stop shop for information.

Currently, CIOL gets over 4,50,000 unique visitors per month. At the current healthy growth rates we are achieving the portal will be able to romp home with higher unique visitors in the years to come.

Our commerce site CIOL Shop is growing from strength to strength and we have amassed two years of vital learning from running the online retail business. This has helped us in further tweaking our offerings. You will see some exciting things happening in CIOL Training & Development and our IT outsourcing waterhole, www.globaloutsourcing.org shortly.

At CIOL, we have always believed in taking the first bold steps that have redefined the online industry in India. We were the first to introduce the daily newsletter CyberTimes Today along with weekly news alerts. We were the first to take our sister magazine sites paid. Today, Voice & Data and Computers@Home sites have shown us that paid content is the future business model. You will soon see more of our sites and sections going paid.

CIOL belongs to Asia’s largest IT media house, Cyber Media. The group publishes well-known titles like Dataquest, PCQuest, Computers@Home, Voice&Data, DQ Channels India and the DQweek.
