New iPhone, HTC One X: Memory, speed specs

BANGALORE, INDIA: Here are the specs, with regards to memory, connectivity and RAM, when it comes to HTC One X, iPhone 4S and iPhone 5, touted to be the worthy competitors of Samsung's Galaxy S3 smartphone.

Apple iPhone 4S and iPhone 5

iPhone 4S is offered in 16GB, 32GB, and 64 GB variants, whereas the 'new iPhone' (or iPhone 5S) also comes in similar variants, along with a 128GB storage option. iPhone 4S supports HSDPA at 14.4 Mbps and Wifi 802.11n at 150 Mbps. It also features iCloud and AirPrint over WiFi.

While iPhone 4S supports 512 MB RAM, and is built on dual core A5 chips, the new iPhone 5's dual core A5X chip processors will have speeds at 1.5 - 2.0 GHz and 1GB of RAM, iOS6 software, Face Time on 3G and 4G and iCloud.

HTC One X

Just like its predecessor, iPhone 5 will also be a World Phone, as it has in-built two-to-three antennas, capable of supporting both GSM and CDMA technology.

On the other hand, HTC One X has an internal storage of 32 GB (26 GB user-available) and 1 GB RAM, however, it does not have any memory card slot.

In terms of wireless connectivity, it can support GPRS, EDGE, HSDPA at 21 Mbps and HSUPA at 5.76 Mbps. It also comes with WLAN - Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot, NFC and Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP.

The Android OS, v4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) smartphone has USB (microUSB (MHL) v2.0) port, and sports Nvidia Tegra 3 chipset with quad-core 1.5 GHz CPU.

HTC also offers 25 GB of space free for two years on Dropbox.
