REDWOOD SHORES: Oracle has announced the first integrated release of the Oracle Identity Management suite since acquiring Oblix in March 2005. The release delivers a complete identity solution to safeguard information, critical systems and applications against unauthorized access across heterogeneous computing environments, an Oracle release said.

Serving as the security backbone for Oracle Fusion Middleware, the new release brings together the best identity management capabilities from Oracle and Oblix and further extends support for heterogeneous systems. Organizations can use the solution to manage enterprise-wide identities for Oracle and non-Oracle technologies. The product extends support for all leading applications, directories and platforms.

"When we acquired Oblix, Oracle provided an outline for how we would rapidly integrate Oblix technology with Oracle's existing identity offerings," said Hasan Rizvi, vice president, Security and Identity Management Products, Oracle. "This release marks the first milestone delivering on that commitment and brings together the best features and technologies that will help us to meet the strong demand for Oracle's identity products."

With increasingly complex information technology ecosystems, organizations seek comprehensive solutions that provide secure access across all systems. For example, an enterprise running an IBM database, SAP applications and an LDAP directory from Microsoft can use a single identity solution - Oracle Identity Management - throughout its enterprise.

The new release of Oracle Identity Management includes a number of enhancements to the Oracle COREid Access and Identity, Oracle COREid Federation, Oracle COREid Provisioning and Oracle Web Services Manager components of the suite, further extending its leading heterogeneous capabilities.
