Both are currently available through the company's website.

Their Fire Sonar turns smartphones into heat sensors. If a fire occurs the Fire Sonar app automatically leaps into action, alerting emergency services and giving them the GPS coordinates. The app can likewise notify friends, neighbors or business associates, and can be programmed to display the best emergency escape routes out of buildings.

The company's Pro-Tech Model 45 keychain fob includes two built-in buttons which can be programmed to contact emergency personnel in the event of fire or threats to personal security. It can also be used to record critical details and comes with smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. A modified version keeps track of pets.

Company spokespersons point out that home fires which break out in the middle of the night are especially dangerous situations, because victims are less likely to react properly and to make timely contact with rescue authorities. With both products, an alert message can instantly go out to emergency services while victims are still struggling to make sense of what is happening and how best to escape danger. Neighbors, associates and friends who need to be informed are likewise alerted.

The Fire Sonar app currently comes in an iPhone version, with an Android version due out shortly.
