New business head for Finacle

BANGALORE: Infosys today announced that Girish Vaidya, senior vice-president and business head of Finacle, the company's core baking product division, would be moving to a larger corporate role.

“We need his business expertise in a larger corporate initiative,” said Nandan M. Nilekani, CEO, president and managing director, Infosys.

Merwin Fernandes, VP and global head-sales and marketing, Finacle would now fill into Vaidya's role.

Commenting on Finacle's growth, Kris Gopalakrishnan, COO, Infosys said that the core banking product was getting increased acceptance in not just developing markets but also developed markets.
