MUMBAI: After meeting with success in the US market with its PGP1000 e-ppliance,

Network Associates and Texport Technologies now plan to roll out the product in

the Indian market within next few months, according to Chief Operating Officer

of Texport Technologies, Arun Pathak.

Texport Technologies is the strategic partners of Network Associates in India

for the distribution of their security products. Network Associates is an

US-based firm that specializes in network security. Statistics on anti-Indian

hacking attacks reveal that nearly 160 Websites were defaced in less than four

months.

This year the figures are likely to cross 650. Pathak believes that this

product will help in reducing the attacks by providing total network security.

And to achieve this end, the product will work on a highspeed 3DES IPsec

performance, which will meet the demands of large VPN networks.

PGP 1000 e-appliance supports high performance VPN tunnels to handle site to

site connections, telecommuters using xDSL or cable modem, and mobile workers

using dial-up links. According to Pathak, PGP 1000e-appliance offers a firewall,

integrated with IPsec VPN capabilities, authentication, anti-virus protection,

VPN authentication and content management.

This full-featured Internet security appliance is set to combat intruders and

protects important business data. PGP1000 e-appliance will also include the

award-wining Mcafee anti-virus software.

Pathak said that the firm could not afford an unexpected downtime and

therefore the high availability of PGP1000 e-ppliance allowed the secondary

firewall to take over processing of Web requests in the event of failure.

Highlighting other unique features of the product, Pathak said that PGP1000

e-appliance includes a scalable enterprise management that simplifies

installation and policy enforcement of each PGP1000e-appliance.

This will also enable network administrators to effectively manage security

policies across remote or geographically distributes networks. "A central

logging and reporting feature enables an administrator to quickly monitor

information from several PGP e-ppliances," he said.
