BANGALORE: The global success of SAP NetWeaver offers a host of opportunities for Indian IT companies and the developer community. According to Morgan Stanley, 33% of SAP customers plan to do a SAP NetWeaver project in the next 12 months. Going forward, demand for services around SAP NetWeaver will significantly increase from SAP's existing customer base of over 24,450 customers globally. Indian IT services companies, employing over 8000 SAP professionals, have the potential to leverage on the SAP NetWeaver opportunity.
SAP NetWeaver also provides a huge opportunity for Indian IT consultants, enabling them to compose applications and business processes on top of existing applications. This way, consultants can leverage on their domain expertise for more business. Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) can leverage their domain skills and combine them with SAP NetWeaver - the leading technology stack - to develop applications for business solutions that map on to core ERP systems. By partnering for the SAP xApps program, ISVs can sell their solutions to SAP's installed customer base.
Elaborating on SAP's initiatives for SAP NetWeaver in India, Dr. Peter Zencke, Member of the Executive Board of SAP AG, said, "With world-class IT development capabilities, an impressive talent pool and enterprises with mature technology adoption patterns, India is one of the key focus areas for the SAP NetWeaver initiative. SAP aims to build a strong SAP NetWeaver community in India to enable Indian IT companies and the developer community to leverage on the opportunities offered by the global success of SAP NetWeaver. We are currently exploring the possibility of global partnerships with leading Indian IT services companies and are excited about the future of SAP NetWeaver in India."
