Netmagic opens 5th data center in Chennai

CHENNAI, INDIA: Netmagic Solutionsa carrier-neutral managed IT Services provider, today unveiled its most energy efficient data center in Chennai. This new project forms a significant part of the company’s current expansion project within the hosted and managed services division.

With this 'green' data center Netmagic aims to offer a range of third-party services in the tech infrastructure space.

Netmagic, which specializes in Internet data centers, managed hosting, infrastructure management services, has multiple carrier-neutral data centers in Mumbai, Bangalore and a virtual data center in the United States.

While announcing the launch of its data center here, Sharad Sanghi, CEO and MD, Netmagic Solutions said, “With enterprises facing issues such as manpower retention, the deployment of complex applications causes issues like 24X7 monitoring, security, business continuity, etc.”

He also said that along with the growing need to provide quality services both to customers and employees, outsourcing IT infrastructure is becoming a key driver to survival.

Industry reports predict that revenues associated with the managed services market grow from nearly $30 billion in 2008 to $43 billion in 2013.

Pointing out the previous IDC India study on the data center market opportunity covering Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Pune and Bangalore, the Netmagic’s press release said, while the captive market would grow only at a CAGR 16 per cent third-party data center market would grow at a CAGR of 35 per cent in the next two years.

Netmagic chairman B.V Jagdeesh said Chennai possesses a well-developed corporate community. “Also Chennai is a strategic location for our clients in Delhi and Mumbai from a disaster recovery point, where we now have our most energy efficient hosting and managed services present in the region,” he added.

Netmagic sees this new 30,000 square feet data centre as a milestone in its plans.

Talking about the company’s commitment to Chennai in terms of investments and revenues, Sanghi added the company is expecting 15-20 per cent of its revenue to come from this data center.

The company plans set up an another data center in Delhi in six to 15 months time period.
