Netgear unveils ReadyNAS RNR4450

NEW DELHI: Netgear Technologies India Pvt. Ltd, provider of networking products, has0 announced the availability its ReadyNAS RNR4450 100EUS 1100 - a 2TB DUAL GIGABIT Rackmount Network Storage (4X500GB) Box.

Netgear ReadyNAS RNR4450 is an easy to use SAN box that is ideal for departments, workgroups and branch offices. It comes with embedded Linux operating system, which makes it easy to manage and operate. It does not require any additional software to install or per-user licensing requirements, Netgear said in a statement.

Atul Jain, country manager, Netgear India, said, “With ReadyNAS RNR4450, Netgear brings the enterprise class storage to the SME customers at an affordable price point. This product is completely plug-n-play and easy to manage.”

“The user company does not have to worry about training the staff to manage this storage device,” he added.

ReadyNAS RNR4450 comes with 4 Hot Swappable 500GB HDD in a ultra-short 12 inch 1U rack mount design in which HDD are initialized and system is pre-configured in RAID 5 mode for immediate use. It has Automated RAID Management with volume expansion, which scales easily from 1-4 disks and beyond. It has Dual Gigabit Ethernet Interface with native support for Windows, Macintosh and Linux/Unix Clients (CIFS/SMB, AFP, NFS) as well as FTP and HTTP support with built-in system monitoring with SNMP and email alerts. It is also equipped with Web browser interface and setup wizard to get the NAS configured quickly with intelligent monitoring of battery backup devices and fully Journaled file system.

It is available with two national distributors - Rashi Peripherals and Cyberstar Infocom, priced at Rs 1,50,000 with three-year hardware warranty.
