Netgear rolls out SC 101T

Mumbai: Rashi Peripherals announced the availability of Netgear's next generation storage device named Storage Central SC101 Turbo. Customers can use this upgradable product to store and access music, videos and photos at gigabit speeds.

Introducing the new product, Rohit Posaria, Product Manager, Rashi Peripherals said, "With the need and market size expanding exponentially for the SOHO and SMB segment this product is an ideal choice for users looking beyond the desktop PC storage in a networked environment and with ease to configure and manage".

Users need to insert one or two 3.5-inch SATA drives of any capacity from any vendor (sold separately) into Storage Central Turbo, connect it to any router or switch, and Smart Wizard takes care of the configuration. It functions just like a local disk drive, accessible from any network computer, but without requiring a dedicated PC. Advanced backup and synchronization software protects against data loss automatically with mirroring.

As storage needs grow, Storage Central Turbo keeps pace by letting users upgrade with larger capacity SATA drives-and even additional Storage Central Turbo devices.

With dimensions of 6.90 x 5.91 x 5.74 in (175.25 x 150 x 146 mm) (L x W x H) it is very compact. With 10/100/1000 Mbps (auto-sensing) Ethernet, RJ-45 interface it supports TCP/IP, DHCP, SAN protocol. Storage Central Turbo comes along with three colored diagnostic LEDs: Green for Power, Blue for Hard disk and Green for Network.

The product is available through Rashi Peripherals across India through its network of 50 branches at a price tag of Rs 17,300 and comes with one-year warranty.
