Netgear ReadyNAS Pro to support 3TB HDD

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Networking equipment vendor Netgear announced that its ReadyNAS Pro family of business storage products (Pro 6, Pro 4, Pro 2, 2100 and 3100 series) will support 3TB HDD with the firmware 4.2.16 or later.

Netgear claims that the ReadyNAS Pro family delivers higher performance and reliability than comparable consumer storage products, enabling VMware, Microsoft, hybrid cloud and disk-based back-up and recovery solutions.

The new ReadyNAS Pro family includes 2-bay, 4-bay, and 6-bay desktop products and comes with VMware Ready certification for vSphere, Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 certification for Hyper-V, Symantec Backup Exec agent, Veeam and Vizioncore back-up software compatibility for virtual environments, Acronis and StorageCraft back-up software compatibility for mixed physical/virtual environments.

The company also adds that the new product is ideal for disk-based back-up applications and hybrid cloud services.
