HYDERABAD: Sunnyvale based NetDevices Inc. (NetD), has launched its fourth development center, which happens to be the company's second such center in India. The company has decided to pump in investments to the tune of $15 - 20 million over the next 15 months for product development and infrastructure.

The three other centers for the product development company are at Bangalore (India), Sunnyvale (US) and Sydney (Australia). The Hyderabad center will have an initial capacity of 30 people that would be later scaled up to 75 and more.

"We work on a unique yet effective concept of global virtual campus and the Hyderabad center is an extension of this strategy. This center will be a critical component of our global expansion operations and will participate in developing products in network management, remote site connectivity and remote management into a single device," explained NetD CEO Seenu Banda.

The company is gearing up to ship the first version of its flagship product in March this year. The company claims that this product is slated to eliminate the need for up to eight separate devices in network connectivity. "The product will help the customers attain competitive advantages through reduced mean time to repair, unilateral access to and control of the system remotely, service level agreement transparency and detailed visibility," said Banda.

Presently, the company has an overall strength of 124 associates globally, which would be increased to 250 in the next 14 months. To fund the expansion, the company plans to go in for the second round of venture capital funding. Earlier in 2003, the company raised $16 million from its four investors-ComVentures, Artiman, Columbia Capital and JumpStaratup.
