NetASQ announces India operations

MUMBAI, INDIA: France based NetASQ, recently announced their official launch in India. NetASQ will be running their India operations from Hyderabad with Technical support from Hyderabad based Zoom Technologies (India) Pvt. Ltd.

According to a recent report by Frost and Sullivan, the network security market in India grew by over 20 per cent in 2008 and is poised to grow at a higher rate in the coming years.

NetASQ will be targeting the mid and high range segments in the network security market which constitutes over two thirds of the annual turnover in India, said a press release.

NETASQ is a private subsidiary of EADS Group ( Airbus, DCS) , with existing offices in London (UK), Bruxelles (BEL), Amsterdam (NL), Milano (I), Madrid (SPAIN), Paris , Aman , Dubaï and Singapore etc.

Dominique MEURISSE, member of the Management Board, executive vice president, Sales and Marketing, NetASQ France said “India is one of the biggest markets in the world. Even in these turbulent times, the Indian economy has posted an impressive growth rate of 6.3 per cent when most of the major world economies actually shrank. The network security market is also growing exponentially. In view of these, we think it’s the right time to invest in India and establish our brand here.”

NETASQ is managing 30 per cent growth a year and anticipates to cross over 100 million euro in the coming year. Speaking about the investments and plans in the Indian Market, Dominique Meurisse said, “We have an investment outlay of USD $1, 000, 000 initially. We aim to capture the network security market with aggressive marketing and brand visibility techniques. And as people see the difference between NetASQ and other vendors, there’s bound to be a huge growth in our market share, just like in Europe where we are the number one brand.”

He added that they are in the process of establishing a pan India presence by tying up with distributors and VARs who have experience in network security products.

Speaking about Products for the Indian Market, Dominique Meurisse further added, “We are launching the NetASQ U series firewalls and the Mfiltro anti-spam appliances. The NetASQ U series is a comprehensive network security appliance with complete UTM functionality, including always on IPS , anti virus, content security , VPN , SSL VPN etc.

NetASQ Operates worldwide through a channel of 750 certified resellers covering 45 countries. The company aims to be the leader in EMEA, ASIA & INDIA of the Next Generation Firewall and Multifunction Firewall, the release added.
