This 390-rack datacenter would be managed with a remote console and can be judged as the most energy efficient datacenter in India with a power usage ratio of 1.55 as compared to the industry average of 2.5. Leveraging its own technology NetApp has seen a year on year 30 percent reduction in its datacenter costs.

With NIC, NetApp will offer its customers an environment where they can accurately assess measurable benefits of advanced technology in their data centre environments. The NIC is co-located with the NetApp engineering centre in Bangalore, which was first set up in 2003. This centre will give customers access to a huge pool of engineering talent.

The NIC will showcase leading data storage and management technologies to meet the demands of next generation data center computing requirements. The team at NIC can work with customers to solve unique problems specific to their environments which are not addressed by standard solutions and architectural blueprints. It will also help customers use NetApp solutions for the maximum benefit to their business.

Rajesh Janey, president, sales, India & SAARC, NetApp, said: “Storage is one of the highest areas of spending in the data center and also the fastest growing. The economic slowdown has made it imperative for customers to look at innovative ways to do more with less. The aim of the NIC is to help customers achieve business breakthroughs. We have added more than 100 customers in the last one year.  The NIC has already helped 90 percent of the customers who have leveraged this facility, to design and select the right solution for their environments.
