NetApp expands its flash portfolio

BANGALORE, INDIA: NetApp has announced the availability of EF540 all-flash array and three new platforms within FAS6200 storage systems family.

The EF540, built on SANtricity operating system, flash array delivers over 300,000 IOPS and submillisecond data access. Business-critical database applications can run up to 500 per cent faster than in traditional storage environments, as per a release.

The three new platforms within FAS6200 storage systems family, FAS6220, FAS6250, and FAS6290, come with an increased performance for the most stringent workloads. Enterprises can perform faster and operations can run more efficiently on new high-end, flash-optimized storage systems.

Ltd. "Flash changes everything- applications go faster and are more responsive, business operations finish sooner and the IT efficiency increases."

With these announcement, NetApp strengthens its enterprise performance for both SAN and NAS.

Karthik Ramarao, director, Strategy and Technology and CTO Asia Pacific, NetApp said "The new all flash based EF540 raises the bar with a much higher sustainable performance for a broad range of applications, an enterprise grade reliability and availability and a robust storage management. This potent combination has the ability to significantly disrupt the enterprise storage market in India."

The NetApp EF540 flash array and FAS/V6200 product series are available. The FlashRay product line will be generally available early in 2014.
