NEW DELHI, INDIA: IP communications services provider Net4 India is set to roll out WiMAX services for enterprise customers in the national capital.
Jasjit Sawhney, CEO, Net4 India said that the company plans to rollout WiMAX services for enterprise Internet access in the major cities across the country.
“We already have the infrastructure in place for Delhi. We are currently carrying out pilot on the WiMAX network in Mumbai as well,” Sawhney told CyberMedia News.
WiMAX services will be offered on fixed 3.3 GHz. The network is capable of providing 8 Mbps.
On the setting up of the infrastructure, he said that the company has acquired licenses for a number of cities and are planning to rollout services soon.
“We are planning to launch in Chennai and Bangalore. Services in Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore will be operational in three months. We are planning to migrate our customers to the WiMAX network as it becomes operational,” he said.
The company has two million corporate e-mail accounts. Sawhney said that the firm is looking at migrating from lease line to WiMAX.
“In terms of our network we have data centers and point of presence (PoPs) in seven cities. We are also looking at Coimbatore, Ahmedabad and Jaipur. These cities have significant market for IT and ITeS companies. With a number of companies setting up offices in tier II and tier III cities will prove huge opportunity for us,” Sawhney added.
