Neoteric launches Umax Astra 5400

MUMBAI: Neoteric has launched a high resolution Umax scanner into the Indian

market. UMAX Astra 5400 has a resolution of 1200 x 2400 dpi and captures in

42-bit color. The scanner is suited for SOHO and the SME segment.

The Astra 5400 has four touch-buttons that simplify tasks such as scan, copy,

email and text conversion (OCR).

The scanner comes with easy-to-use software that enables you to organize

images and documents. The software includes Presto! PageManager and Adobe

PhotoShop LE, that lets you to create sophisticated and compelling visuals by

editing and enhancing the images. It offers OCR capability and organizes image

files; accesses fax, email, printer, word processors and other software by drag

and drop.

The NewSoft Page Type is helpful for filling out forms.

The Astra 5400 delivers 1200-dpi optical resolution that gives images much

smoother color gradation and more detailed shadow lines. Also, it ensures a

superior quality scan, which is able to scan a small object with higher

enlargement. Featuring 42bit-color output, the Astra 5400 makes your scans are

remarkably sharp, colors accurate and true to life. The Astra 5400 is compatible

with both Macintosh and PC platforms, device on systems running Mac OS 9.0,

Windows 98, Windows 2000 and Windows ME. Moreover, the Astra 5400 offers

optional transparency cover for scanning slides, positives and negatives of up

to 4" x 5" in size.
