Neoteric, BenQ tie up for OSD distribution

MUMBAI: Neoteric, in an ongoing effort to broaden the availability of its products to users of CD's and DVD's, has announced its tie-up with BenQ India for distribution of optical storage in the domestic market.

The initial products to be introduced are aimed at both the consumer and professional markets, and consist of CDROMs, CD writers, Combo, DVD ROM, internal & external DVD writers. BenQ is in a joint venture with Royal Dutch Philips who own the copyrights for CD, DVD & CD-DVD drive manufacturing.

This tie-up is aimed at moving up the value chain by leveraging the manufacturing strengths and experience in the field of storage technology to capture the rapidly growing optical storage market in India, a press release said.

“There is a strong & growing demand for reliable optical storage products”, said Mr Ish Bawa, Marketing Communication Manager, BenQ India. The SMBs, 'B' and 'C' class cities were the markets, which saw maximum demand for personal computers. Mr Bawa further commented that, “We are witnessing a big demand for optical storage from the emerging markets and this partnership with Neoteric will help us address these demands.”
