'Neon helped a realty major save 20 p.c. on ops'

BANGALORE, INDIA: There is only a handful of IT players in the world that provide software solutions to enterprises in the real estate and construction space, in which Quadra Software is a force to reckon with.

Quadra, a Bangalore-based mid-sized firm, is the only company to offer multiple solutions to its customers on a single platform for multiple devices like iPad, Android-based smartphones etc. The company caters not only to big honchos in the multi-billion dollar realty industry like DLF, Mantri, Prestige, Sobha Developers, Hiranandani and Puravankara etc, but has customers in villages as remote as Jharsuguda in Orissa, too.

In an exclusive interaction with CIOL, its CEO Hari Krishna talks about its business, expansion plans and growth strategy etc. Excerpts:

CIOL: What are the different solutions the company offers to the realty sector?

Hari Krishna: Quadra Software Solutions offers business solutions to the Engineering, Construction, Contracting, Realty and Operations (ECCR&O) domain. The company has over 20 years of experience providing IT solutions exclusively for this segment.

We offer a comprehensive ERP solution Quadra to the construction and real estate industry. This product has many versions. 

Quadra Suite is a comprehensive web-based ERP solution that integrates all major activities and monitors entire processes on a continuous basis. It comprises more than 25 modules that help enterprises to control operations with effective management, better co-ordination and optimized resource management.

Then, there are Neon, Quadra Lite, Quadra Architect, Quadra JGrid, Quadra Plus, Quadra Mall etc. for different purposes in the real estate industry.

CIOL: Can you tell us something about your product 'Neon', which recently bagged the Nasscom Emerging Product award?

Hari Krishna: Neon is our flagship product offered exclusively to large enterprises. This product enables enterprises to carry out multiple operations using a single platform. It has dashboards with real-time, intuitive, configurable, mobile-enabled, click to action/transaction capabilities, which bring the key information to finger tips.

One of our key customers, Mantri, has deployed this product, which helped it save 21 per cent on operational costs, 3 per cent on materials cost and 10 per cent on labor cost.

This solution provides visibility into any organization’s functions and its role across the project lifecycle. Mantri achieved business process automation through workflow and rules-based framework after the implementation of Neon. Now, its clients are empowered to take informed decisions and actions from anywhere.

Earlier, Mantri had no control over internal and external tenders and worked mostly on just on 2-4 per cent margin. Multi project management was a challenge and it could not execute more than three projects ate a time, as the site management was difficult.

There was no centralized asset/fleet management capabilities, which lead into duplicate or excess fixed assets. The company also used to face excess manpower and management issues, billing challenges and revenue dips etc. With the implementation of Neon, the company addressed all these problems effectively.

Though SAP is also providing the same kind of solutions with a lesser cost, customers who need a single platform for their entire operations come to us. They like our solutions and so are ready to pay more.

CIOL: What are your business expansion plans?

Hari Krishna: We have been constantly focusing only on the construction contracting business and we enable our customers to run multiple businesses. Quadra is the only company in the world to provide various iPad apps, cloud-based solutions and business intelligence in data warehousing solutions on a single platform.

We have as many as 154 customers in India and are planning to expand business to foreign countries like Australia, Canada and the US. We are also planning to acquire some players in the construction and realty space to come up with a collaboration platform.

CIOL: What are your solutions for the SME segment in India?

Hari Krishna: Quadra provides Finance, HRMS and back-end programmes to the SMEs in India using our Quadra Lite solution. It is designed for smarter enterprises and it helps the customer navigate through the entire system with ease. This platform comes with connectivity between office and site to offer live information of the site activities.
