BANGALORE: neoIT has signed a partnership with Lawson Software. The
partnership will enable firms to assign internal resources where needed with
Lawson Services Automation, and to engage in and manage a strategic outsourcing
arrangement when external resources are needed due to a lack of internal
resources or expertise.
neoIT’s Services Value Chain Automation technology, sometimes called
"strategic sourcing," allows companies to automate the entire
outsourcing lifecycle — from planning, sourcing and selecting outsourcing
partners to managing the collaborative relationship with these partners once
they are retained.
The partnership between Lawson and neoIT is a response to the growing need of
companies worldwide to more efficiently manage the outsourcing of IT projects
and services, including IT application development, integration and maintenance,
IT infrastructure, back office or entire IT operations. The partnership also
will support companies that make strategic decisions to outsource business
processes like human resources, marketing services and call centers by
simplifying the sourcing, procurement and management of these services.
"The procurement of IT services today is a fragmented and unnecessarily
expensive process," said Gartner principal analyst Ted Kempf. "By our
estimates, 80 percent of Fortune 1000 enterprises do not have a formal process
for strategically procuring IT services, or — even more troubling — simply
do not know they need one. As a result, we estimate that Global 2000 companies
that outsource technology projects through traditional methods currently spend
$35,000 to $75,000 per project to identify, qualify and select service
providers. In order for companies to begin to reduce these costs, they first
need to have a tool in place."
The partnership between Lawson and neoIT is designed to address common
sourcing issues by simplifying the processes associated with identifying
strategic outsourcing partners and managing their services delivery once they
are selected. The partnership also will help professional services organizations
serve as "services aggregators" in the services value chain, allowing
them to simultaneously combine multiple partners into a single solution for
their end customers looking for complex outsourcing arrangements managed by one
vendor.
"This partnership is all about breaking down the walls of the
enterprise," said Lawson executive vice president for professional services
Dean Hager,. "Our goal is to make sure that organizations that work with us
are no longer limited by the talents, skills and availability of resources
within the four walls of their enterprise. With this partnership Lawson truly
provides value as an inter-enterprise solution to its customers.
"neoIT’s decision to partner with an enterprise software provider
pointed to Lawson as the leader among services automation technology. We believe
that by combining the two technologies we will fundamentally change the way
companies streamline their services value chain," said neoIT chief
executive officer, Atul Vashistha.
"Through this partnership, we will be able to offer our clients a
services process optimization suite that provides a full view of their sourcing
needs and processes both internally and externally, delivering control,
visibility, cost savings and process optimization."
