Given that the above practice leads to an unhealthy business environment NCTA will shortly hold a meeting to discuss the issue with the dealers who are indulging in the same.

Sharing his views on the unethical business practices that are on the rise in Wazirpur, Mukesh Gupta, President, NCTA reiterated, “The Wazirpur market is fairly small and not many customers who can afford high priced IT products walk into our shops. As a result there is stiff competition amongst dealers. However, it has come to our notice that a lot of partners in Wazirpur are selling IT products at a price lesser than the prevailing market prices which is leading to uneven pricing and unhealthy business environment.”

Gupta further clarified that some of the resellers and retailers are selling computer parts at a loss of five to 10 percent and in spite of the association's repeated requests none of them are willing to curb the practice.

“If these malpractices are not stopped then we will have to face severe consequences. Hence we will hold a meeting with the partners in the region and request them to refrain from such unethical way of pursuing business. Prior to this yet another dealer Aakriti Computers was also selling the material at lesser prices and duped partners of a sum of Rs 8-10 lakh. Its proprietor is absconding from the market for the past three to four months now.”

NCTA has taken note of several such dealers who have been indulging into negative selling. The association has spotted various pamphlets being distributed at several counters in Wazirpur displaying the prices of IT products that are far lesser.
