NEET 2020: New exam dates and abroad centres- Everything you need to know!

Because of the lockdown, many aspirants are facing difficulty to travel locally as well as internationally. Students (and parents) have tried to plead the HRD minister to scrape all exams, including NEET 2020. But the decision on same, is still awaited. But here, is some good news. Yesterday, NTA has notified that it will not conduct any exams abroad.

This comes after the Kerala High Court questioned NTA on how they plan to allot exam centres abroad including in the Gulf countries, for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET 2020). A PIL was filed to Kerala High Court to disallow exams is Gulf countries and thus, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan also urged the same to the PMO.

So, students who were going to gulf countries can take a sigh of relief, your NEET 2020 exams stand postponed until the authorities say otherwise.

Further, NTA has also told that they will hold NEET-UG 2020 in offline mode only. That is, the students have to write the exams using pen and paper. We earlier reported that the education ministry was putting almost 17 lakh students’ lives at risk by conducting these exams. Turns out, the government and Supreme court is looking to revisit the guidelines.

NEET 2020 new exam date

There will be a major announcement at 2 PM today. This comes after many requests from students, teachers and parents to postpone both JEE and NEET 2020. The exams are scheduled on July 26, 2020. The internal meetings with the Union Ministry of Home Affairs and the health ministry have already been going on to decide new exam time table for the NEET 2020 as per earlier reports.
