NEW DELHI, INDIA: HP India announced on Thursday the appointment of Neeraj Sharma as the vice-president of the Imaging and Printing Group in India. He will be replacing Ravi Aggarwal who is retiring from HP after 21 years.
Neeraj will join the senior leadership team for HP India and will be reporting to John Solomon, senior vice president, HP, Imaging and Printing Group, Asia-Pacific and Japan, said a press release.
“Neeraj is a strategic thinker, passionate about technology, with a panache to sniff out new growth opportunities,” said John Solomon. “We believe these are the qualities that will lead us to the next level of growth in India.”
Formerly an IBM senior executive, Neeraj joins HP with 20 years of experience of which 7 were spent in senior leadership roles across varied technology portfolios.
Neeraj also led the new Lenovo organization when IBM divested from their PC business in 2005. Most recently he augmented his background of managing hardware portfolios with three and half years of services experience; creating complex technology solutions for major clients across the region.
Neeraj will succeed Ravi Aggarwal who has led the team to the leadership position HP IPG is at today. HP said IPG in India has consistently delivered some of the company's strongest hardware market share positions across multiple customer segments across the world.
Under Ravi’s leadership, IPG has grown multi-fold and literally created and led the printing market in India. Ravi will be retiring from HP by March 31, 2011, added the release.
