IGL is a gas distribution company and a pioneer in promoting eco friendly fuel to reduce pollution in the NCT region and NCR. As on March 31, 2013, the company provided piped natural gas (PNG) connection to 3.9 lakh and 1,382 industrial and commerical users.

IGL has awarded the contract to Navigant Technologies for providing 24X7, end-to-end telephonic support, both inbound and outbound to its PNG users in the NCT and NCR region. Under the contract, Navigant is responsible for disseminating information to users on new connections, billing queries, transfer cases, and is the first line of redressal for IGL's PNG users for complaints such as faulty connections, cheque misplacement, emergency calls (e.g. for leakage).

The move to outsource to Navigant also supports IGL's aggressive growth plans in existing geographical areas and in new geographical areas.

Navigant's call centre currently supports nearly 3000 to 4000 calls everyday from IGL's PNG users. It expects this call volume to increase by nearly 200 percent over the time frame of the contract, in line with IGL's expansion plans.

Ankur Bhatia, founder and CEO, Navigant Technologies said, "With the IGL contract, we gain stronger foothold in the public sector domain. Navigant already provides outsourcing services to Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG), East Municipal Corporation of Delhi (East MCD), DHBVN, UHBVN, MMTC etc. that has lent us a good understanding of the way the government utilities department functions. We look forward to strengthening our domain expertise in this area."
